Today was our first day snowshoeing this winter, and it’s not quite the end of October! This is the earliest ever, and the recent snowfalls have put down a good layer of snow. You can see from the photos, there is about 20cm in town, and where we were snowshoeing, near the Col de Montets, there were drifts of up to 1m deep in places. It is a great start to the winter season, and it looks set to be our longest snowshoe season ever! Last year our first day on snowshoes was 15 November, and the last was on 15 June, so seven months in total.
