Here is a photo of the amazing limestone formations on cliffs near Annecy. Yesterday the Alpine Classics group, guided by Francis, climbed the famous route ‘Délit de fuite’, which translates as ‘Hit and Run’. This 300m, twelve pitch route is described in the Piola guide book ‘Le Calcaire en Folie’ tome II as “la plus longue et homogêne escalade moderne de Haute Savoie dans ce registre de difficulté”. That translates as “this route is the longest and most homogenous modern rock climb in the Haute Savoie of this technical level”. No small wonder that this route is such a classic! Our group enjoyed it alone, and no one else was there, so a true ‘hit and run’.
