Just a quick update from Marrakech in Morocco, but here’s one of the first summit photos on Mount Toubkal for this winter. Toubkal is the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains in North Africa, and is 4167m high. The current conditions are quite dry and icy, but clear and cold. The group that climbed Toubkal this week included Sarah from our Chamonix office. She ascended to the Neltner refuge in just 4 hours from Imlil and to the summit in 2 hours 45 minutes. We aren’t expecting our groups to go half this fast, but well done Sarah! You can check out photos of this trip at; http://picasaweb.google.fr/IcicleUK/MountToubkalMorocco. So far this season 100% of clients have reached the summit. This winter trek is one of our most popular trips, and you can read the itinerary and details at http://www.icicle-mountaineering.ltd.uk/toubkal.htm.
