Chamonix has already seen two avalanche fatalities in the Le Tour ski area this winter. It seems that in both cases the skiers were not equipped with ARVA’s (avalanche safety beacons), and were ignoring basic avalanche avoidance and safety rules. If you are unsure if your skills are up to date then get some basic training. Often it’s not advanced snow science that keeps you safe, but key safety checks and following basic rules. Our avalanche awareness days are designed to provide exactly that and only cost ยฃ49 per person. You can’t put a price on safety, but these days really aren’t going to break the bank.
