The conditions in the Alps are amazing at the moment, for ice climbing, skiing, mountaineering, and snowshoeing. This week we have two groups out for different levels of ice climbing and winter Alpinism, and also an off piste ski group. The climbers have been to Cogne, Argentiere, Megeve, Midi, Grands Montets and Chatelard for their climbs, and have reported great ice conditions. The hardest route to have been ascended so far this week is the Pellissier on the South Face of Pointe Lachenal. The skiers have enjoyed amazing snow on the Grands Montets, and skied the Pas de Chevre and the Vallée Blanche. Forget the snow misery in the UK and get out here for the snow ecstasy!
