Mont Blanc traverse

So you think you need to stay in a hut for Mont Blanc, and to have an Alpine start to reach the summit? Think again. Here are Neil and Mark on Mont Blanc at midday yesterday having set off from the first cable car to Aiguille du Midi at 06:30am. They ascended by the traverse route (Trois Mont Blancs) and then proceeded to descend by the Gouter route in time to easily catch the train and cable car down to Les Houches for beer o’clock. So that’s how it’s done – Mont Blanc in a day! This is an option that is only suitable for fit groups, but it gives them far more options for picking a summiting window than those who require two or even three days. Well done guys for your efforts.
