Where in the world is this photo? The Andes, Dolomites, or Patagonia? No, but you’d be forgiven for thinking it was. It’s the view from the summit of Mont Buet, the highest point in the Aiguilles Rouges above Chamonix. Each weekend of the summer season we offer weekend ascents of this peak in order to help kickstart clients acclimatisation for the bigger Alpine peaks. Mont Buet is a 3000m peak, and often called ‘Mont Blanc des Dames’ (the Ladies Mont Blanc) in reference to the tradition in Victorian times for the men to climb Mont Blanc, and the women Mont Buet. We’ve changed things around recently with more girls summiting Mont Blanc last week than guys!
