It’s nearly a month since the last snowfall in Chamonix, but for some sports it’s great news, so here’s a photo of ice climbing at the Cremerie today. It’s warm in the valley, so an early start was needed before the ice started to melt. There is no overlying snow on any of the routes, and the melt-freeze cycles have increased the ice thickness in some of the sections to amazing levels. For any of you who have flung your skis or snowshoes into a dark corner, and are sulking until the flakes fall again, get in touch to book on one of our popular ice or Alpine climbing courses!
