Thanks to Mark from one last weeks five successful Mont Blanc groups for this photo of him re-ascending the arete to the Aiguille du Midi. Last week there was plenty of snow that fell on Wednesday, but it didn’t stop our teams summiting on both Thursday and Friday. Since the weekend however, it hasn’t stopped snowing at altitude, and now the snowline has dropped right down to 2100m! This isn’t good news for this weeks groups on Mont Blanc, but they are praying for a weather window. It is great for the glaciers though, as some areas were getting very dry and prone to rockfall, so this snow is much needed.
