Toula glacier skiing

The off piste and touring conditions across the Alps are amazing in some areas, and sketchy in others. The northern Alps have the best snow, in resorts such as Chamonix, Zermatt and Verbier, whilst eastern and southern regions such as the Dolomites have poor snow cover. Conditions on the Vallee Blanche are very good, though the week of NE wind has created some sastrugi higher up. This photo is from last weeks Intro Touring and Backcountry course in the Mont Blanc massif, here skiing the Italian side on the Toula glacier. There are still 3 spaces on the course running 11-17 March; http://www.icicle-mountaineering.ltd.uk/introskitour.shtml
