Today our Winter Alpine Intro course were out ice climbing on the Cremerie Icefalls above Argentiere, and here are in the photo above on a route planning exercise on an avalanche awareness day yesterday. The recent snows have created elevated avalanche conditions, but there are plenty of good safe areas to climb in. The guides reported the ice conditions today as brittle, but the group climbed plenty of good pitches.
This course is ever popular due to it teaching all the key winter skills, and providing a great mix of ice climbing, instruction, and winter Alpine mountaineering routes. We have one final space on the next course running 17-23 February 2013. For the full course details and itinerary, click here.
