The winter on the Lake District fells doesn’t force our running groups into the valley floors, it welcomes us onto the snowy fells where paths are completely hidden under a white blanket, and we have the mountains to ourselves. This weekend we had a great group of four women on our Intro Fell a Running Weekend, and we enjoyed two great days out.
On the first day we worked on techniques around Loughrigg Fell, then in the afternoon had a great run over Wansfell Pike and via Troutbeck, back to Ambleside. Today we went for a tougher (and snowier) objective, running the Fairfield Horseshoe in winter conditions. It was a perfect day out running, and everyone put in a brilliant effort and developed loads.
