We waited, and waited, and waited, and then suddenly winter finally arrived! Both the Alps and the UK mountains have now had really decent snowfalls, and our winter season can properly start. It’s been nervous times playing the waiting game, and we’ve been up front with everyone, telling them to hold off, rather than putting a brave face on it. At long last, we can get out the skis, unclip the ice axes, and fasten the snowshoes.
The snowfalls have been sustained and significant, and the snowpack evolution will create a more stable base quickly. It’s always hard playing the waiting game, but you have to let the mountains dictate when they are ready. Have a look for yourself on the webcams; click here. In Chamonix the Vallee Blanche is coming into condition, and our key Winter season can now kick off.
Today we’ve sent out our January Newsletter, with the usual mixture of news and course reviews, and upcoming spaces. There are also equipment deals for course clients from our Windermere shop. To view the latest newsletter, click here.
