Climbing to the summit of Mont Blanc is a case of stacking the odds in your favour; doing the training, selecting the right kit, acclimatising well, building mountain skills, and knowing what you are letting yourself in for. By popular demand we have launched a FREE Mont Blanc open evening, based in our Windermere office, for anyone booked on one an ascent with us this summer.
The date for your diary is Saturday 3rd June 2017, and the event is scheduled to run from 18:00 to 19:30. The evening is on the same weekend as the Alpine Preparation weekend (click for itinerary), which many people book anyway to develop their hill fitness and skills on broken mountain terrain. The Mont Blanc open evening is an extra FREE event to the weekend course, and you can attend the evening or full weekend (£99 for two days guiding).
Our evening will start with a presentation about climbing Mont Blanc via its most popular classic routes (Gouter and Trois Mont Blanc), then there is an Alpine Q&A session, to allow you to as any queries you have about your forthcoming Alpine trip.
The instructor will talk you through the wide range of Alpine kit, showing you examples of the choices that you can consider. A key focus is on how to take enough kit, but to remain lightweight and not to carry too much. Another topic covered, is how to train for Mont Blanc, in terms of aerobic and endurance preparations. The event will finish by 19:30 to allow you time to head back home / off to dinner / down the pub / out for a run!
If you plan to attend, please e-mail us to reserve a space and confirm availability. How to find our Windermere office; click here
