Brouillard Arête

Many congratulations to Andy for his ascent of the Brouillard Arête on the South Face of Mont Blanc. Guided ascents of the massive Italian face of Mont Blanc are very rare, and this is our only ascent of Mont Blanc on this side of the mountain during this season. The route took three days, with two days in bivouacs on the ridge, the highest one at 4400m, just a few hundred metres below the summit of Mont Blanc itself. In true Alpine style they took no sleeping bags, just bivvy bags and roll mats for sleeping. Needless to say, they all slept well having descended by the Gouter route. Well done Andy and Francois!
