The snow conditions on routes are great at the moment, despite the high temperatures. This week we have had groups on the North Face of TΓͺte Blanche, Col Copt, Couloir de Table, and also on the Aiguille Verte (more news on that to follow!). The heat is requiring groups to have very early starts, sometimes as much as two hours earlier than normal. The heat has coincided with the longest days of the year, and so even with 04:00am starts, head torches are hardly needed. In this photo a team is ascending the Bosses Arete of Mont Blanc at sunrise, in perfect snow, yet hours later the snow is turning slushy. Next week is fortunately looking a little bit cooler!
