The ice climbing season in the Alps is very definately underway. This photo was from last week’s Chamonix Ice & Gullies course, and is of Gareth on the classic Cascade Lillaz. Groups have ascended some of the hard classics including Repentance and le Cigare du Chatelard, as well as the more frequented Reposoir, Megeve, Sixt, Cogne and of course La Cremerie. The routes are all starting to thicken well, which might explain why so many are booking the last spaces on our ice courses for the next few weeks.
