Chamonix Ski Tour

IMG_0707

FINALLY! It’s snowing properly in Chamonix. In fact the forecasts indicate it isn’t stopping snowing for about a week. We’ve waited for these snowfalls for quite a while, and are relieved they are here at long last. Never before has the work of our IFMGA ski and mountain guides been so important; early season weak layers in the snowpack, variable base conditions, and abundant snowfalls, make for challenging safety and route choice decisions. It’s no wonder that people are turning to us for professional advice as to where it’s safe to go.

Ski tourers are especially keen to get out any enjoy the powder, as early season conditions were like skiing on concrete! Many people are contacting us with training requirements of developing their ski touring, before a longer hut-to-hut tour later in the season. We’ve carefully developed a course to provide these skills, our Intro Ski Touring & Backcountry course (click for itinerary), based in Chamonix. For just Β£699 you have a week of guiding, including B&B accommodation in Chamonix.

Our next trips with spaces are;
1) NEXT WEEKΒ 14 – 20 Feb 2016 (2 spaces)
2) 28 Feb – 5 Mar 2016 (2 spaces)

The photo header for this post was from our last trip of James on the ski down to Le Tour from the Col du Passon, and below is a short film from a recent course…
